What is MTA(Mail Transfer Agents)?

MTA (Mail Transfer Agents) are used to transfer emails from one server to another using smtp (simple mail transfer protocol). There are following well known MTA availables for use.

  • SendMail
  • Qmail
  • Exim
  • Postfix
  • Powermta
  • Alpine
  • Mutt
